Jimmy “Honcho” Chavez, 39,
a resident of Española passed away on Monday, February 09, 2009 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Lillian Lucero; great-grandparents, Melaquias and Josepha Rodriguez; great-grandparents, Fermin and Irene Lucero. Jimmy will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his life long companion, Dora Sena of Española; mother, Georgia Chavez; sister, Ramona Miera; nephew, Dominic J. Rodriguez and wife Bethany, all of Chamisal, nephew, Reynaldo A. Rodriguez of Taos and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A devotional service will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Cremation is being planned. Honorary pallbearers are Diego Fong, Joseph Cordova, Jose Sena, Fermin Lucero, Bobby Tyler and Patrick Stout.
