Thanks, Wrestling Coaches

The New Mexico Junior Wrestling state tournament took place Feb. 7 and 8 at Pojoaque Middle School. Mark Saunders, coach of the Pojoaque Junior Wrestling program, hosted the tournament, with the assistance of the Santa Fe Patriots Junior Wrestling and the Los Alamos Junior Wrestling.

Over 700 wrestlers from across the state participated. Coach Saunders did a fantastic job of putting it together, which was no easy feat by any means. Espanola, Pojoaque and Los Alamos have quality wrestling programs in which boys and girls can participate. These coaches are dedicated to helping youth by promoting good sportsmanship and building character.

If your child is interested in wrestling, I would highly recommend contacting your local junior wrestling program.

Thank you, Coach Saunders, Coach Tapia, and coaches Geyer and Sorensen for putting this tournament together.
