I want to pass on some handy information to everyone who might not have knowledge that there is a system in place that governs attorneys and their actions—good and bad. That is the State Bar of New Mexsico Disciplinary Board. You can contact this governing board and report any complaints you may have about an attorney. If the attorney is licensed in New Mexico they are subject to the disciplinary rules set forth by the Board.
It is sad that we need to have this information handy, but I see that we still have practicing attorenys hwo take advantage of the disadvantaged. i thought the day of ottorneys taking away land and homes from their clients was long gone, but I sadly learned that this action is still occurring in our very own front yard.
So citizens of Española, be careful. You may end up losing hard-earned homes and property to an unsavory attorney.
