The third annual Health Heart, Mind and Soul Run will be held July 12 at Santa Clara Pueblo. Ten-kilometer and five-kilometer races will begin from the Santa Clara Day School at 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., respectively, with a children’s one-mile race at 9:30 a.m. The one-mile run is open to children ages 10 and under. The all-terrain course passes over flat dirt roads, sandy trails and a hill with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Jemez Mountains and Black Mesa.
Overall male and female winners in the 10K and 5K will receive gift certificates, and the top three finishers in each of seven age divisions will receive medals. The first boy and girl in the one-mile race will receive bicycles.
All proceeds benefit the Kha P’o Running Club.
Packet pick-up and registration will be available July 9-11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Santa Clara Recreation Center. Late registration is available on race day at 6 a.m. Early-bird registration before Thursday (7/9) for the 10K and 5K is $20, and regular registration is $25. Entry for the children’s one-mile run is $15 at any time.
