No Accountability

Published:

What happened to the accountability system in the Jemez Mountain School District? My concern is for the staff and the children of the district and the staff who have to buy materials for their classrooms out of their own pockets or resign because they do not have the materials necessary to do their jobs.

    Who loses? The children.

I can’t believe that some of our three- and four-year-olds had to be bused 70 miles a day to attend pre-school because the district could not afford one closer to home. Perhaps the casinos should check to see which one got the bulk of the Jemez Mountain dollars and in good faith and for the sake of the children, return the money. What a thought.

That amount of money could have provided a state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center, sent all of our graduates to college, better salaries for the staff and materials for the classrooms.  That amount of money could have been used to fund a Jemez Mountain Academy where all students would be proficient in all areas.

What a travesty. What an injustice. What selfishness. What a lack of conscience. What a total disregard for the children she was hired to serve.
