Son Mourned

Dear Editor:

On May 21, 2009, at 7:30 a.m. I found my son, Miguel Antonio Valdivies, dead of a heroin overdose. There were three law enforcement officers called to my house to investigate his death. I waited a couple of weeks to find out what they were going to do, but the only thing I got out of deputy Marvin Mercure was that my son was another overdose number in Rio Arriba County.

If you took an oath to serve and protect the citizens of Rio Arriba County does that mean only certain persons or does it mean everybody? I think the only ones that can answer that would be the three officers: Mercure, deputy Jesus Martinez and State Police officer Dominic Casados. I am standing up for my rights and what has happened? Zero. I only get the round and around on my question on who sold my son drugs.

Sorry, when your son is dead you die a little bit a day. What else can these people take from a mother that lost her son?
