Police Blotter: Man Wields Knife, Gets Away on Tractor

(SUNfoto by Emma Breysse) A North Central Regional Transit District blue bus and a Pontiac G6 driven by 19-year-old Samantha Martinez were involved in an accident on State Road 399 near the entrance of the Black Mesa Golf Club. According to Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Lt. Marcos Armijo, Martinez’s vehicle struck the bus as it made a turn onto State Road 399 from Upper San Pedro Road. Armijo said he still has to determine whether the bus driver looked before making the turn to determine who was at fault. The driver would not give his name, and Armijo said he couldn’t release it. No one was injured, and the bus was not seriously damaged.
