Arsonists Target House of Coaches’ Mother

(SUNfotos by George Morse) Española Police are still looking for suspected arsonists behind a fire at the family home of Española Valley High School head basketball coach Richard Martinez (above) and assistant coach Eric Martinez that was lit while the two brothers coached a game. The Martinezes’ elderly mother, Fructosa, was in the house and was hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The house sustained some heat and smoke damage.
