(SUNfoto by George Morse) Brandon Wert (left) steers from the stern as Andrea Sitek, Bridget Weber, Sarah Irwin, Wil Nole and Hope Campbell paddled hard Sunday to negotiate their raft through Screaming Left rapids on the Rio Chama. The college students, who come from across the country, are serving on the staff of the nearby Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center. Stable water levels and beautiful scenery draw rafters and other outdoor enthusiasts to the Rio Chama Wild and Scenic Rivers Area north of Abiquiú.
