Española All-Stars Win Third Straight District Title

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Española Valley All-Star Tanisha Velasquez (above) was the starting pitcher in the Little League District One 12-and-under championship game June 29 in White Rock. Velasquez had a triple off the left field fence in Española’s five-run fourth inning that gave her team a 10-4 lead over White Rock. Española won its third straight District One championship and advanced to the state tournament July 16 in Santa Fe.
