Lobos Win Tri-Cities Tourney

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Escalante High School’s Will Hurd pulls up and shoots a jumper against the Pecos Panthers in the Lobos’ 66-64 victory in the semifinals of the Tri-Cities tournament Dec. 27 at Pecos. Hurd scored 21 points for the Lobos. Escalante went on to win the tournament, defeating Santa Rosa in the championship game, 55-51, Dec. 28 at Pecos. Escalante’s Norman Salazar was voted the tournament’s most valuable player.
