Carlos Trujillo, the owner of Trujillo’s Weaving Shop in Chimayó, said County officials must tell constituents how they plan to spend the revenue generated by the increased Gross Receipts Tax rate. “If it is legitimate (spending), that is good,” he said. “If it is not, it is not good for the people.” According to the resolution passed by the County Commission, the revenue can be used to pay back bond and loan debt, as well as any other lawful purpose.
