Volunteers Keep an Eye on Eagles

Abiquiú Lake Operations Project Manager John Mueller (left), volunteer Erin McEloy, Lead Ranger Austin Kuhlman and volunteer Zachary Woolens, watch for Bald Eagles on the lake’s southern shoreline, Jan. 7, during this year’s Midwinter Eagle Watch. Kuhlman said due to this year’s high temperatures, parts of the lake that are usually frozen, were not. This allowed him to navigate the boat deeper into some of the coves.
