This upcoming Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative election gives the member-owners a very real chance to take back the Co-op for the people it serves, rather than the entrenched and self-serving Board of Trustees.
We live in a world of renewable energy. Coal powered electricity is a remnant of the Dark Ages and costs more than renewals do today.
All members please go and vote for new leadership. I and others who feel this is an important moment in moving from fossil fuels to renewable energy will be in front of the Dixon Co-op on June 24 giving rides to the Española Valley High School to vote from 7 a.m until 7 p.m. for those who would like a ride.
