Oñate is welcome back in Alcalde.
County commissioners, please place Oñate back and repair the base. You had no right bowing down to some left wing protesters that were 95 percent out of state.
The Rio Grande Heritage and its lease with the County, wanting to remove Oñate before doesn’t make sense either.
Also, why were the protesters allowed on County property to deface the platform with spray paint while deputies watched this going on? Porque? Why weren’t any of the commissioners present? Why was all this done without any public input?
Now you want petitions and hearings to replace Oñate when you never asked your constituents about removing him. I think it’s time to replace a few of you instead.
