So commenting, “Have you ever noticed the police leave you alone if you aren’t doing anything illegal” demeans the Black Lives Matter movement and makes Pojoaque Valley High School Principal Burks “pro-cop” and dismissive of a “fundamentally unjust system”?
I hope those students and the 500 people who signed that petition are able to live up to their own expectations and the standards for behavior they’re demanding of others. One could certainly interpret Ms. Miera’s own comments as demeaning to the thousands of honest police officers and prosecutors trying to do their best in today’s dangerous and politically charged environment.
