In last week’s newspaper we saw the accomplishments of our two acequias to Santa Cruz come to completion. (“$250K Acequia Project,” Rio Grande SUN, March 4, 2021, page A1)
As a landowner, I would like to thank Ron Gallegos and Don Bustos for the time and effort that it took to see a new system that was badly needed. It takes a lot of time to get the funding and do the planning for the project that has been completed. The deserve a big thank you from every one of the affected landowners. If either of these ditches runs through your property, you could show your appreciation by helping to maintain the easements, which belong to both the Santa Cruz and El Llano ditches.
