America is in dire need of competent politicians who are committed to serving the interests of the country not just their unquenchable thirst for power and greed.
We have always had some bad ones. Joseph McCarthy, immediately comes to mind, but it has become significantly worse in recent times. The conspiracy theorists, white supremacists, and those who have made their way into the realm of total insanity are currently the norm. Although devoid of progressive ideas, they are certainly seeped in lies, hate, and hypocrisy.
I am shocked and wonder who in their right mind would put people like Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Joe Manchin, Lauren Boebert, Kevin McCarthy, Krysten Sinema, Louie Gohmert, Jim Jordan, and so many others in office who are nothing more than a malignant cancer on our democracy.
We must make a concerted effort to elect people to office who are qualified and understand they work for the American public and not their own interests.
