Published:

Voting ends at 1 p.m. on Tuesday

Corey Gonzales, Pojoaque Football

The Elk defense had a strong day against Highland, limiting their yardage and giving the offense a chance. Leading the charge was the junior linebacker, who had multiple tackles for loss. Gonzales also contributed on special teams, chipping in at kicker and punter.

Luis Hernandez, Pojoaque Boys Soccer

The Elks scored a good come-from-behind win over East Mountain on the strength of Hernandez. The junior fired a rocket for the team’s first goal, then his strong play ultimately led to a go-ahead goal later in the win.

Greysen Horan, Escalante Football

The senior wide receiver had a big day in a dominant win at Laguna-Acoma. Horan caught four passes for over 100 yards and a touchdown as the leading target with his connection to quarterback Trey Archuleta.

Marisol Serna, McCurdy Cross Country

McCurdy’s freshman runner was a top performer on Saturday. Serna finished in seventh place, running the Santa Fe Indian School course in 22 minutes, 8 seconds. Her placement was second-best among all 1-2A competitors.
