Man Can’t Get a Ride, So Asks to Go to Jail

Overdoses

Feb. 28

12:29 a.m. A caller reported her husband is lying outside; she’s not sure if he’s conscious or breathing. The man was transported to the emergency room.

1:11 a.m. A Po Pay Avenue caller said eight people have been hanging around his house at night and he wants them removed.

2:08 a.m. Someone was shooting in the Chacoma Avenue area.

4:49 a.m. A caller wanted officers to tell a man in a van, who was honking on Calle Loma, to leave.

7:41 a.m. A caller said people are taking trash from trash bins on East Chamisa Street and North Railroad Avenue and putting it in shopping cars.

9:30 a.m. A caller reported people are camping out on the side of Ranchitos Park and refusing to leave. They were also being disorderly with Social Services employees.

1:22 p.m. A man was unconscious at the Santa Cruz Country Store. He regained consciousness and refused medical treatment.

1:38 p.m. A Pizza 9 caller said three men were passed out in front of the business and they wanted them removed.

3:31 p.m. A Coyote caller reported their vehicle is crashed off the side of the road in a ditch.

3:58 p.m. A caller said her son is being bullied by another child at Española Elementary.

4:48 p.m. A Bonecutter Lane caller reported eight to 15 people were fighting in the road.

6:08 p.m. A caller said a woman hit him in the face and wouldn’t get out of his car near Rue 21.

6:41 p.m. An overdose was reported on Roadrunner Drive.

8:10 p.m. Teenagers were looking through mailboxes in La Mesilla.

8:11 p.m. An overdose was reported at the Goodwill store.

8:35 p.m. A person on a motorcycle was driving recklessly through the parking lot at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

8:37 p.m. A woman said a man tried to attack her in a restroom at the Ohkay Casino Hotel.

10:37 p.m. A man was arguing with a security guard at Allsups and they wanted him removed.

11:09 p.m. An overdose was reported on Kee Street.

 

Uranium in the shed

March 1

1:50 a.m. A caller said there might be a fight at Calle Don Diego and Calle Algodones.

1:52 a.m. Two men were having a verbal disagreement at Speedway.

1:58 a.m. A man called 911 and said people were trying to kill him. He said there was a big party in El Rito and people were pulling weapons. He also said he was pistol-whipped.

5:13 a.m. An overdose was reported in Tierra Amarilla.

8:44 a.m. A man called 911 and a woman could be heard in the background, saying she raped the man. It was determined they got into a disagreement and the man said he was going to call 911, so the woman called for him.

9:46 a.m. A Calle Aguilar caller reported their house was broken into last night and the door was broken down and tools were taken.

10:57 a.m. The mayordomo was conducting a burn in Velarde and it got out of control and jumped the ditch and started the trees on fire.

11:09 a.m. A fire in El Guique got out of control.

11:38 a.m. Three people were fighting inside Harbor Freight and breaking things.

12:18 p.m. A vehicle was traveling on Race Track Road and the male driver was hitting a female passenger.

12:27 p.m. A man who was trespassed from Speedway was passed out on the side of the building.

12:49 p.m. A car crashed into the China Kitchen building.

12:50 p.m. A Vallecitos caller said a family member was going through an old shed and they found radioactive uranium ore.

1:29 p.m. A Velarde caller said the neighbor has been burning trash all morning and it’s messing with her breathing. She called back and said it wasn’t the neighbor, but rather, it was smoke from a nearby fire.

2:05 p.m. A caller reported a person is printing pictures of her 16-year-old daughter that say “cheater” and leaving them at Walmart.

6:05 p.m. A car was speeding and doing burnouts in Hernandez.

6:22 p.m. A woman stole a sewing machine from Walmart earlier and tried to return it.

6:32 p.m. A fryer was on fire at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

7:39 p.m. A caller reported four people parking in the middle of Fairview Lane and North McCurdy Road got out of the vehicle and started being aggressive with them.

7:51 p.m. A homeless man was inside Domino’s Pizza and refusing to leave. He was harassing the manager.

7:57 p.m. A caller said her ex punched out the windshield on her truck.

8:34 p.m. A caller reported three small brush fires in Velarde.

8:38 p.m. The police chief said a man was harassing the city manager at the Northern New Mexico College Performing Arts Center.

8:46 p.m. A vehicle was found crashed on the side of the road at Calle de Amor and McCurdy Road.

11:24 p.m. An ALC Global caller reported a break-in last night during which the cameras were broken.

11:59 p.m. Homeless people were lighting fires on North Riverside Drive and a caller wanted officers to patrol the area.

 

Shooting threat

March 2

12:40 a.m. A caller said she came home to find items misplaced.

12:44 a.m. A man was threatening a security guard at Allsups.

1:42 a.m. A man near Guadalupe Credit Union was hallucinating.

2:28 a.m. A man was being belligerent and violent toward security guards at the Santa Claran Casino Hotel.

3:18 a.m. A man was pounding on the doors and windows at 420 Emporia and staff wanted him removed.

9:28 a.m. An Allsups caller said a woman went into the restroom and may be smoking fentanyl because they can smell it.

9:37 a.m. A Calle Jose Pablo caller reported a breaking and entering after the fact.

10:01 a.m. A Rock Christian Fellowship caller said a parishioner told them about a shooting threat at the church that was posted on social media.

11:09 a.m. A homeless man was threatening another homeless man at Speedway.

11:11 a.m. A man was being irate with a Walmart security guard.

11:41 a.m. A Hernandez caller said someone hit his fence sometime last night.

11:49 a.m. An overdose was reported in Chamita.

12:13 p.m. A man was shot at the Family Dollar in Lumberton.

3:43 p.m. An SUV hit a tree in Hernandez and caused a major gas leak.

4:19 p.m. A woman was found cold and unresponsive on Calle Olivas. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called.

5:06 p.m. A man who’s trespassed from Walmart was panhandling and reaching into cars.

5:10 p.m. A BOLO was issued for a car that almost T-boned the sheriff and fled at a high rate of speed near Harbor Freight.

5:17 p.m. A man in a black trench coat was yelling at Walmart employees and being disorderly.

5:43 p.m. A cow was in the northbound lane in Alcalde.

6:49 p.m. A 12-year-old got lost in Ojo Sarco after going for a walk.

7:26 p.m. A dog bit a 14-year-old girl in Hernandez.

7:45 p.m. An overdose was reported on Angel Duran Drive.

7:49 p.m. A man was hitting and strangled his girlfriend.

1:28 p.m. A man was unconscious and not breathing on West Pueblo Street. Two doses of Narcan were administered.

 

When the roosters crow

March 3

1:46 a.m. A man on State Road 369 was charged with concealing identity and possession after a deputy conducted a welfare check.

6:08 a.m. An overdose was reported at Eagle Village. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called.

8:33 am. A man went to EPD to file a report for blackmail.

10:55 a.m. A caller reported getting a photo of an employee sticking their finger down his 1.5-year-old son’s throat and making him gag. He wants to file a report on the incident that happened about a week ago at daycare.

11:13 a.m. A Chimayó caller noticed a gunshot hole in his car.

11:18 a.m. A Walmart caller reported a man wearing a Brinks shirt in a yellow Penske truck, who was claiming to be a Brinks employee and said he was there for a cash pickup.

11:26 a.m. An overdose was reported on Indian Way.

12:19 p.m. A Medanales caller said there are loose dogs everywhere and he’s afraid they might attack his cattle.

12:56 p.m. A U.S. 550 caller reported an overturned camping trailer.

1:05 p.m. A caller said she’s being followed and weird things are happening. She feels like she’s being “targeted.” She hears gunshots, sees people following her and when she goes outside, the roosters crow.

1:30 p.m. A caller was in fear for her safety because he son was on drugs and was upset because she would not lend him the vehicle. He was banging on the doors and throwing things around. The son told her if she doesn’t pick him up from the gas station, he’s going to burn down her house.

3:34 p.m. A caller reported her brother is at home with their father and he’s threatening to kill him.

3:46 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a couple sleeping in a car at DNCU West. The responding officer said he detained a man and that there was a gun in plain view in the car.

3:57 p.m. A Walgreens caller reported a man is in the dumpster, throwing things out of it.

4:14 p.m. A North Riverside Drive caller said a person who lives there has been dumping trash and invited a bunch of transients.

5:12 p.m. A Ricardo Lane caller reported a man is calling her, threatening to take out her utilities and damage her home.

5:31 p.m. An overdose was reported in Velarde.

5:49 p.m. A caller said a man was trying to break a window behind the Work Force Solutions office.

6:44 p.m. A man’s death was reported on Calle Milagro.

11:06 p.m. An Ohkay Express Mart caller said two cars were chasing and shooting at each other.

 

That’s some friend

March 4

1:16 a.m. A narcotics investigation was launched after drugs were found on a woman at the Rio Arriba County Detention Center.

7:29 a.m. A Chamita caller reported a man was around her house last night and he hit her vehicle with a baseball bat and broke the headlight.

8:08 a.m. Mutual aid was requested from the Ojo Sarco Volunteer Fire Department for a mobile home fire on Old School Road in Taos because it was fully engulfed.

8:45 a.m. A caller reported a crashed vehicle on the side of the road in Dixon.

9:22 a.m. An officer stopped to check on a man who was “messing around in the road” near Wells Fargo bank.

10:17 a.m. A case number was created for contraband at the Rio Arriba County Detention Center.

11:07 a.m. A man was pulling a trailer with a tractor and the vehicle jack-knifed by the Santa Cruz Post Office and was blocking both lanes.

1:19 a.m. A caller reported being assaulted by the owner of Navajo Lake.

12:20 p.m. A woman took a box of Benadryl and said the room as spinning. She was taken to the emergency room.

12:23 p.m. A North Riverside Drive caller reported a person broke into a van and was passed out in it.

3:05 p.m. An Ohkay Casino caller said two women were smoking fentanyl in the restroom.

3:39 p.m. Three parole violators were arrested at Darrin’s Place.

7:35 p.m. A vehicle backed into the building at Dreamz Dispensary.

8:04 p.m. A caller said his friend went at him with a spiked bar and sprayed him with pepper spray.

8:14 p.m. A Chimayó caller wanted to file a report because someone ran over her dog and killed it.

10:38 p.m. A woman went to the Rio Arriba County Detention Center under an alias. A deputy took a report for providing false identification. The woman also had two outstanding warrants for her arrest.

 

Throwing rocks

March 5

3:14 a.m. A Walmart caller thinks an employee is on drugs while working. The caller said the employee is acting weird, hiding behind merchandise and saying “there are people trying to hurt him.”

8:33 a.m. A caller reported a woman in a truck appeared to be sleeping and had her signal on at Calle Vacio and State Road 399.

8:33 a.m. A woman went to her father’s house in Chimayó and found him lying on the ground, cold to the touch. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called.

8:52 a.m. A man on North Paseo de Oñate was found unconscious and cold to the touch. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called.

10:16 a.m. A child was retrieved by Peacekeepers, from a home on Calle Flores.

12:20 p.m. Police pursued a motorbike near Big 5.

12:30 p.m. A vehicle fled a traffic stop in Chamita and was pursued by the deputy.

1:31 p.m. A caller said two homeless people are living between her house and Clyde’s RV Park.

1:45 p.m. A caller reported his car was hit in the Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative parking lot.

2:26 p.m. An overdose was reported in Hernandez.

2:29 p.m. Outdoor furniture was reportedly on fire in Hernandez.

2:37 p.m. A man hit someone inside Burger King.

3:24 p.m. A deputy attempted to pull over a person on an ATV in Alcalde, but they refused to stop.

3:52 p.m. A caller said a vehicle with a bunch of branches in the back was headed up toward 31 Mile Road and the caller thought they were going to illegally dump them.

5:21 p.m. A Hernandez caller requested an ambulance after his wife hit her head getting out of bed. The police were called because the woman was getting aggressive and throwing rocks at the Agua Sana Volunteer Fire Department.

6:36 p.m. An overdose was reported on Camino Miramontes.

6:58 p.m. A caller said two people are behind an empty building on to the east of Camino Miramontes and they are digging a hole.

7:19 p.m. A caller reported an overdose on Camino Miramontes. Narcan was administered to two men.

7:21 p.m. A North Prince Drive caller heard about 10 shots in the area.

8:08 p.m. A man and woman were arguing outside the doors at Walmart.

8:51 p.m. A Keith Street caller said her son is there and won’t give her wheelchair back.

10:04 p.m. A Calle Jose Pablo caller reported a man was trying to take her catalytic converter.

11:59 p.m. A Chamita caller said his cousin is having trouble breathing. RASO was sent out because someone at the house was getting violent with first responders.

 

Drunk but determined

March 6

12:15 a.m. A vehicle fire was reported on Camino Cielo Grande.

2:08 a.m. An Allsups caller requested an officer because a drunk man was refusing to leave and wanted a ride to San Juan. When he was told that officer don’t do rides, the man said he wants to go to jail.

7:53 a.m. A Pinch Penny Washomat caller said a man was walking in and out of the business and was asked multiple times to leave, but now he’s back and exposing himself to the cameras.

8:04 a.m. An older man was standing in the middle of the road near KFC, saying someone shot him. It was discovered the man was not shot but an ambulance was still called.

11:37 a.m. A Chamita caller said her ex is harassing her via phone and in person and she wants to file a report.

2:35 p.m. A caller reported his wife is hitting him.

2:38 p.m. A caller in Medanales heard a series of gunshots in the area.

3:27 p.m. An Española Valley High School caller reported they are having issues with two students, one of whom threatened to assault the caller.

3:32 p.m. A caller witnessed drug deals among a group of homeless people and a person in a car behind the Dollar Tree on Carr Lane.

3:57 p.m. A man was trying to wash windows at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

4:19 p.m. A man was dumping trash in the dumpster at Speedway.

5:20 p.m. A caller said the neighbor came over and told them his wife was hitting, scratching and choking him while he was in the restroom.

6:37 p.m. A caller said she went to take out a loan, but there’s already a loan in her name and the person who opened it used an Albuquerque address, but she lives in Española.

6:52 p.m. A man was drunk and couldn’t walk, but was trying to fight people on North Prince Drive.

7:43 p.m. A Hernandez caller said her ex is parked outside her house and isn’t supposed to be there because she has a protection order against him.

8:08 p.m. A Calle Chacoma Vista caller reported a woman who was removed from his house today called and said she’s going to come back and break his car windows.

8:57 p.m. A Walmart caller said a person in a car tried to hit them and fled toward Lowe’s Home Improvement.

9:09 p.m. A house fire was reported in Hernandez.

11:18 p.m. A caller reported a man was choking on a gummy and going unconscious. The caller was connected with a dispatcher in Archuleta County, Colo.
