The fall season is winding down with volleyball entering the final weeks and cross country careening toward the all-important district meets that will determine state championship qualifiers.

Oct. 21
Los Alamos 3, Pojoaque Valley 0
The host Elkettes (2-17, 0-4 in District 2-4A) could not produce much offense in a 25-11, 25-21, 25-18 loss to the Lady Hilltoppers.
McCurdy 3, Escalante 1
The visiting Lady Bobcats (14-3, 5-0 in District 5-2A) survived a scare from the Lady Lobos (3-13, 0-4 in 5-2A) in a 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23 decision.
Laguna Acoma 3, Dulce 0
Host Dulce (7-11, 1-4 in District 1-2A) allowed 26 kills, including seven to Kalie Poncho, as well 14 total aces, in dropping a 25-8, 25-22, 25-15 decision to Laguna Acoma.

Escalante 3, Peñasco 0
The host Lady Lobos (4-13, 1-4 in District 5-2A) ended a six-game losing streak with a strong 25-22, 25-17, 25-14 win over the Lady Panthers.

Los Alamos 3, Española Valley 0
After winning two consecutive matches, the Lady Sundevils (7-12, 2-3 in District 2-4A) had a week off but it did not help against the Lady Hilltoppers.
Taos 3, Pojoaque Valley 0
The host Elkettes (2-18, 0-5 in District 2-4A) battled throughout a 25-23, 25-21, 25-18 loss to the Lady Tigers.
Hozho Academy 3, Dulce 0
The visiting Lady Hawks (7-12, 1-5 in District 1-2A) succumbed under the force of 25 Hawks kills and 19 aces, with Raine Miller putting down 15 of the kills and eight of the aces in a 25-9, 25-12, 25-21 loss.

Questa 3, Escalante 0
The visiting Lady Lobos (4-14, 1-5 in District 5-2A) had no answers for the Lady Wildcats in a 25-20, 25-13, 25-18 loss.
Monte del Sol 3, Coronado 2
The host Lady Leopards (6-8) three-game win streak came to an end against the Lady Dragons in a hard-fought match.
Cross Country
Española Valley
At Saturday’s Los Alamos Invitational, Neveah Cachora finished ninth in 20 minutes, 16 seconds, leading the Sundevils to a 10th place finish among 15 teams. Christiana Branch was 24th in 21:15.
The boys did not field a complete team, but Damian Whittaker was 62nd with a time of 19:54 and Mylan Archuleta’s time of 20:27 was good for 74th.
Dulce
At the Bronco Ridge Runner Invite at Kirtland Central, Jayanna Petago took 44th for the girls in 24:58.37, followed closely by teammate Michelle Tecube in 49th in 25:57.94.
For the boys, Ian Gomez ran a 19:29.12 for 47th, followed by Markol Vicenti, who was 52nd in 19:43.53.
Coronado
Eli Martinez ran a 19:40.01 to take 50th at the invite for the boys, with Malachi Valdez 70th in 21:58.03.

The visiting Elkettes (2-15-1, 0-4-1 in District 2-4A) could not find the net against the Lady Pintos.
Oct. 23
Los Alamos 8, Pojoaque Valley 0
The host Elkettes (2-16, 0-5-1 in District 2-4A) finished up the regular season in a loss to the Lady Hilltoppers, but finished out the game, which was a significant improvement over the prior meeting between the teams, when Pojoaque lost 13-0 in a game stopped at halftime.

Moriarty 5, Pojoaque Valley 0
The visiting Elks (0-19, 0-5 in District 2-4A) played tough defense, led by Joel Nuñez, who had two steals, but they could not get their offense untracked against the Pintos despite six shots from José Lujan.
Oct. 23
Los Alamos 10, Pojoaque Valley 0
The host Elks (0-20, 0-6 in District 2-4A) finished the regular season with Joshua Gomez getting off two shots and goalkeeper Raudel Rivera making 21 saves, but Pojoaque surrendered three penalty kicks against the Hilltoppers.
