Library Events
There will be a story time and kid energy activity from 11 a.m. to noon on Feb. 3 at the Española Public Library. A “Chess 101” class will be offered for begininners of all ages from 11 a.m. to noon and 4-5 p.m. Feb. 6 and 20. Participants learn how the chess board is set up, how each piece moves, basic rules and simple strategies to get started. No prior experience required.
American Legion

Seniors can get help in applying for SNAP, Medicare, Medicare Part D, LIHEAP, the Medicare Savings Program and Medicaid by contacting Mariah Sandoval with the Rio Arriba County Health and Human Services Department at 505-753-2143, ext. 5109. She can check eligibility and help seniors apply for the programs.
