Pets of the Week 2/5/26

Lentil is a 1½-year-old twinkly-eyed tuxie with a charming way of making photos look like elementary school picture day. He came to the shelter with a whole clowder of 10 cats, so he’s fluent in feline friendship and would love a home with other kitty companions. Lentil is a beanie bop of affection and loves people, just on his own terms. He’s not a fan of long carries — when he’s done, he’ll give a gentle wiggle, request floor privileges, then once all four are on the floor, he immediately resumes purring like nothing ever happened. He’s looking for a home that respects those boundaries and he’ll repay you by becoming that quietly devoted, always nearby family member you didn’t know you were missing. The Española Animal Shelter is open to walk-in adopters and Lentil goes home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped — and his adoption fee is waived.

Well excuse me, mister cuteness. Honestly, it’s rude how cute Clyde is. He clearly did not get the memo that ears are supposed to match. One is flopped over and speckled, doing its own artsy little thing. The other is jet black and straight up like it was carefully glued on at a 90-degree angle and never looked back. On his bright white body, it’s a statement. Add in those warm, endearing amber eyes, a smile that could flip even the worst day right-side up, and you’ve got 47 lbs. of perfectly portioned, fun-size joy. Clyde is a 4-year-old Border Collie-mix with just the right balance of charm, goofiness, smarts and “did you see me?” energy. The Española Animal Shelter is open to walk-in adopters from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
