Pacquiao is a 4-year-old black-and-white heartthrob with a champion’s comeback story. He got his name the day he arrived, front paws wrapped up from injuries, looking exactly like he was wearing the tiniest pair of boxing gloves. Life had clearly gone a few rough rounds, but thanks to the shelter’s incredible medical team, Pacquiao is healed, feeling fantastic and officially out of the ring for good.
These days, he’s less prizefighter and more peaceful philosopher. He doesn’t seem bothered by other cats and prefers to take in the world like a quiet little referee — observing, considering, blinking slowly in approval. Pacquiao is ready to win over his forever family … no fight required. He is now available for adoption from the shelter’s space at the Turquoise Teapot Santa Fe Cat Cafe. Apply on the animal shelter’s website.
Ellie is over halfway through her training in the Paws in the Pen training program at the Penitentiary of New Mexico. She is a black beauty with brindle socks, bat ears and a cute kiss of sunshine on her cheeks. Ellie has soft eyes and a tender heart set permanently to “friend mode.” She greets the world with full-body wiggles, enjoys canine company, could share space with a cat and is happiest splitting her time between adventures and couch-side devotion. Affection is her love language! Apply on the Española Animal Shelter website to schedule a meet and greet!
