Spencer Fordin is a graduate of the University of Florida. Fordin spent 15 seasons as a reporter for MLB.com and later moved to the Cayman Islands where he wrote features for the Cayman Compass.

Jennifer Garcia is the managing editor of the Rio Grande SUN and has 31 years of journalism experience. She grew up in Española and graduated from Española Valley High School. She began her career at a newspaper in Santa Fe and has worked for other newspapers in New Mexico, on the East Coast and most recently, on the West Coast. She was the SUN news editor from 2013-2018 and returned in 2023 to become the managing editor.
