Abiquiú Fire Department Rocks

Published:

We wanted to express our thanks to Abiquiú Fire Chief Paulette Jordan and her crew for their hard work in putting out a fire on our property a couple of weeks ago.

We had been unaware of the fire, even though it was in the woods about 100 feet from our home. Fortunately, someone across the river saw the blaze and called 911, and the first we knew of it was when we saw the lights of the fire truck going past the house at about 10 p.m.

Chief Jordan personally worked alongside her men in ensuring that not only was the fire put out, but that all surrounding brush was checked and doused before ending their efforts.

We know how difficult it is to find volunteers to work with the fire department, but the work they do is so important to their community and we commend all who volunteer. We ow a debt of gratitude ot the entire crew, as the damage would have been far worse without their hard work.
