Alicia Lucero, 84, Velarde, died Thursday, April 9, 2009.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; Rueben Lucero; her parents, Manuelita and Eliazar Montoya; brothers, Amadeo, Jaquin, and Juan Montoya; sister, Lena Romero; and grand-daughter, Isabella Lucero.
Mrs. Lucero is survived by her husband, Arnold M. Lucero, Las Cruces; son, Juan M. Lucero, Las Cruces; daughter, Valerie Trujillo, Velarde; two grandaughters, six grandsons and six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernie Romero and Rosalie Valdez; brother, George Montoya, Velarde and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A rosary was recited April 15 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be held today (4/16) at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Velarde with the following serving as pallbearers, Juan, Peter, Amber, Aaron, Zion and Isaiah.
