All-star game not a win/lose situation

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Escalante High School’s Reynaldo Atencio carries the ball against the South in the six-man-Class A North/South All-Star game June 7 at Community Stadium in Albuquerque. Atencio didn’t find a lot of running room against a tough South defense. In the fourth quarter, he threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Escalante teammate Adam Gurulé for the North’s only touchdown. The South won the game 14-6 to snap a three-year winning streak by the North. Atencio will attend Eastern New Mexico University this fall.
