MARTINEZ – Anita C. Martinez, 83,
a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with her Lord on January 19, 2009. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Federico O. Martinez; her children Ella Porragas & husband Samuel, Selma Luna & husband Frank, Mario Martinez, Marlin Martinez, and Conchita Sandoval & husband Ray; her grandchildren Carrie Hanecak & husband Ken, Garth Porragas, Mary Barry & husband Kent, Sabrina Zamora & husband James, Nathan Sandoval & wife Monique, Antoinette Sandoval, and Jason Sandoval; her great-grandchildren, Samy, Bia, Eddie, Hunter, Spencer, Andrew, Brian, Anthony, Brooke, Roxton, and Reyes; her sister Estella Sandoval & husband Tiofilo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents Anastacia & Pablo Cordova, brothers Carpio & Reymundo Cordova, and granddaughter Bernadette Porragas. She was born in Truchas, NM on May 25, 1925, moved to Los Alamos in 1956, then to Albuquerque in 1982. She was a graduate of Menaul High School, a member of Second Presbyterian Church, and a volunteer in both the Purple Heart & DAV Auxiliaries. Viewing was held on Monday, January 26, at French Mortuary in Albuquerque. Services were held on Tuesday, January 27, at Second Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. She was a loving and devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who will always be dearly missed.
