(SUN file photo) Escalante quarterback Justin Atencio couldn’t outrun McCurdy defensive lineman Matt Bustos in the Bobcats 56-25 defeat of the Lobos last season that earned McCurdy the runnerup spot in District 1A and a trip to the Class A state football playoffs. Both players will meet again this year in what has become an annual battle to determine supremacy in District 1A.
