Another one of the 37 guns stolen from an Española security company late last year was recovered June 26 after a domestic violence incident in La Puebla, according to State Police.
Joseph Archuleta, 46, of La Puebla, allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a knife, then fled to his mother’s house in Española, Capt. Daniel Lovato said.
Española Police assisted in apprehending Archuleta, and State Police recovered the gun, which was not used in the assault. A check through a national crime database confirmed it was one of 37 9 mm Beretta pistols stolen Dec. 22, 2008, from Akal Security, Lovato said. It is the third of the guns to be recovered.
Archuleta has been charged with assault, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a felon, battery and receiving stolen property, Lovato said.
