ANTHONY RONALD “ANTZ” MARTINEZ,
22, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. He was preceded in death by his girlfriend, Ashley Garcia; mother, Donna Martinez; great-grandparents, Antonio and Gregoria Martinez and Andres and Anita Padilla; Ray and Susie Quintana and Manuel and Rosarito Martinez. He loved doing body work and painting cars. He is survived by his adoptive mother, Olga Martinez of Chimayo; adoptive father, Gilbert Martinez Sr. of Chimayo; biological father, Ronald Martinez and companion Melanie Payne of Truchas; sister, Santana Martinez and companion Danny Anaya of Truchas; brother, Derick Ludi of Corrales; adoptive brothers, Joshua and Nathan Martinez; step-sister, Brittany Martinez; step-brother, Emery Chacon; uncles, Gilbert A. Martinez Jr. and companion Lisa of Chimayo and Michael Martinez and wife Jeanette of Truchas; grandparents, Gilbert N. and Lucille Martinez of Truchas; very special cousins, DeeAnn Martinez and fiancé Ryan Chavez and Christopher Martinez both of Truchas and numerous other cousins, relatives and friends. A rosary was recited on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, burial followed at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Joshua and Nathan Martinez, Ruben Rendon, Danny Anaya, Adrian Romero and Randy Lopez. Honorary pallbearers were, Derick Ludi, Destinee, Renee and Chris Alcala, Tomas Moya, Benjie Martinez and all cousins, family and friends who loved him.
