Antonia M. Griego

Antonia M. Griego, 74, a resident of Espanola passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2008.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Octoviano and Susie Valdez; brother, Jerry Valdez; in-laws, Carlos and Anna Maria Griego and daughter-in-law, Tammy Griego.  Antonia is survived by her husband, Bert Griego; children, Lucille and Tommy Maes of Bernalillo, Berta and Rick Dominguez of Denver, Carlos of Espanola, Steve and Kathy of Arroyo Seco, Joe and companion Angela Cordova of Espanola, Vince of Alcalde and Robert Griego and Liz Martinez of Espanola; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and her loyal pet, Cholo.  She is also survived by sisters and a brother, Mary and Alfonso Lopez, Lorraine and Frank Montaño, Pita Romero, Maria Trujillo, Lori and Bernie Velasquez of Arroyo Seco and Toby and Adelain Valdez of Ely, Nevada, brothers-in-law; Gabriel and Rose Griego of Pueblo, Co, Herman and Loyola Griego from Arroyo Seco, Armando and Vivian Griego of Albuquerque, Art and Helen Griego of Albuquerque, Elifar Griego from Utah, sisters-in-law; Caroline Carrilo of Grants, and Mary Pena and husband Isaias of Grants, NM.  Public visitation was Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary was recited on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. also in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial  followed at the Vallecitos Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Ricky Dominguez, John and Thomas Maes, Logan and Steven Griego, and Bernie Velasquez.  Honorary pallbearers were Anamaria Chavez, Angelique Maes, Amanda, Vanessa and Samantha Griego.  The family of Antonia M.
