Arsenio Romero

Arsenio Romero, 75, Chimayó, died  Wednesday, April 22, 2009.

    He was a lifelong resident of Chimayó who loved fishing, camping and took pride in his immaculate garden. He was a member of Laborer’s International Union of America #16 and a lifelong member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, where he was an usher.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacinto and Pablita Romero and brothers Frank and Uwaldo Romero.

    Mr. Romero is survived by his wife, Roselia Romero; daughter, Lorraine Salazar two granddaughters; brothers and sisters, Audelio Romero, Marcelo Romero, Bernie Fernandez, Esnedena Trujillo and many other relatives and friends.

    A rosary was recited April 24 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 25 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayó. Burial followed at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayó with the following serving as pallbearers, Victor Salazar, Manuel Martinez Jr., Rudy Romero, Leroy Ortiz, Lee Romero and Chuck Martinez.
