BENNY J. LOPEZ,
47, a resident of El Rancho and formerly of La Mesilla passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother, Orsinia Lopez. Mr. Lopez was employed by Pojoaque High School for over 18 years. He is survived by 2 sons, Eric and Daren Martinez, both of La Mesilla; mother of his children, Kathy Martinez also of La Mesilla; father, Benito Roybal of El Rancho; brother, Bobby Lopez and wife Lydia of Española. Padrinos; Archie and Isabel War and numerous uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends. A public visitation was on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, a wake service followed. The Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. All services were held in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, burial followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Española. The following served as pallbearers; Gerald Armijo, Carlos Valdez, Joseph Gonzales, Thomas Lopez, Isauro Madred Jr. and Pete Madrid. Honary pallbearers were; his God-father; Arsenio War Sr. and Jose Archie War. The family of Benny J. Lopez has placed their trust in DeVargas Funeral Home of the Española Valley.
