Better Communication, Authority

I need to voice a concern about trash pick up North Central Solid Waste Authority.

For the last three weeks I have been placing bags of leaves for trash pick up and on the previous tow weeks North Central picket up these bags of leaves, but today they failed to pick up these bags.  I called North Central Solid Waste office and I was told that they would not be providing this service because it would cause to much work for their employees and if they did this for me then they would need to do for everyone.

This came without warning or information that they had made this change in service.  I asked the person who answered if there was a city ordinance specifying this change and the young lady who answered the call could not say or did not know if there was such an ordinance.  She went on to say that it would be my responsibility to take these bags to the transfer station.

What I fail to understand is why was the service provided for the previous two weeks and then all of sudden the rule is changed without warning.  I have always paid my utility bill, which includes trash pick up, on time and now because of new rule implemented by North Central without notice to customers they are transferring responsibility to the customer.  I consider this as bad faith and poor customer service by North Central Solid Waste Authority.  If and when they make these type of changes to their services they should have the courtesy to advise their customers of these type of administrative changes before they implement them.  They should also educate their customer representatives on city ordinances so they can give customers appropriate answers rather than flippant answers.

What happens to those folks who are unable to take such items to the transfer stations due to lack of appropriate vehicle or physically unable to?  This may seem like a trivial complaint but I do think that North Central Solid Waste Authority should do a better job of informing their customers, taxpayers, what type of services they will or will not provide.

I will take these bags to the transfer station but you can consider me a dissatisfied customer.
