Big Game: Organized Hunts Bring Business to Rio Arriba Outfitters

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Larry Nelson of Twins Outfitters holds up the cape of a mule deer killed by one of his clients during a guided hunt Nov. 5 in Lindrith. The cape will be rolled, salted and frozen, then taken to a taxidermist for mounting. All of the hunters guided by Twins that week bagged either a mule deer or an elk. Twins charges $4,500 for a deer or elk hunt and $6,000 for a combination hunt for both species.
