CANDELARIA “CANDY” BENAVIDEZ SISNEROS,
90, a resident of Las Tablas, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2009 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Celestino Sisneros; son, Eppie Sisneros; granddaughters, Yvonne Gasca and Celeste Sisneros; son-in-law, Gilbert Martinez; parents, Epifanio Benavidez and Josefa Martinez; brothers and sisters, Damian, Facundo, Aaron Benavidez, Octabiana Roybal, Magdalena Roybal and Virginia Lovato. Mrs. Sisneros is survived by her children, Faustino Sisneros and wife Lucy of Las Tablas, Johnny Sisneros and wife Ruby of El Rito, Herman Sisneros of Las Tablas, Danny Sisneros of Arizona, Bertha Gasca and Karen Martinez; son-in-law, Horace Gasca of Rio Chama; 2 grandsons, 4 grand-daughters; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation was on Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home a rosary was recited afterwards. A second rosary was recited on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Nuestra Señora de Lourdes Catholic Church in Las Tablas. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 23, 2009 also at Nuestra Señora de Lourdes Catholic Church in Las Tablas. Burial followed at the Las Tablas Catholic Cemetery, the following served as pallbearers, Jim Sisneros, Miguel Gasca, Leroy Roybal, Gene Archuleta, Randy Vigil and Angelo Trujillo.
