CLIFFORD L. GARINGER

CLIFFORD L. GARINGER, 87, a resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 following a very short illness. Mr. Garinger was born on May 29, 1921 in Salina, Kansas to Clifford and Maybelle Garinger. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served proudly during WWII. He married Dorothy S. Newman on August 22, 1942 and they were blessed with 3 children. He was a Deacon of the 1st Baptist Church of Los Alamos and 1st Baptist Church in Española and a member of the Los Alamos Boy Scouts and a life member of NRA. He worked for more than 30 years for the Department of Energy and drove the school bus for Holy Cross School for a number of years. Mr. Garinger is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. Garinger of La Mesilla; daughters, Cheryl Casados of Española and Bonny Baca and husband Narciso of Mangas, NM; son, Neil Garinger and wife Sandy of La Mesilla; several brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Jeremy Casados, Connie Lamb, Daniel Baca and Cody Garinger; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Burial took place on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
