Cop Thrown a Bone in Dog Abuse Case

(Courtesy photo) Jack, an Australian cattle dog mix, allegedly had four inches of leg bone exposed when he was turned over to the Española Valley Humane Society March 24 by Española Police officer George Martinez, which lead to charges of animal cruelty against Martinez. The officer’s defense attorney said Martinez was trying to care for the dog and the shelter staff wrongfully accused him of abusing the animal.
