County Libraries Aim for Endowment

The County Commission did not provide any funding for the five Rio Arriba Independent Libraries in the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year budget. Last year, library directors, volunteers and supporters went to Commission meetings with signs and to ask for funding, but took home about half of what they received in years past. The Rural Libraries Endowment Fund would alleviate the need for independent and public libraries from across the state to find outside funding sources or to ask local government bodies for extra funds.
