Department of Transportation Safety Program Director Michael Sandoval explains, during a December 2015 Rio Arriba County Commission meeting, that County officials must repay $205,000 his Department paid the Sheriff’s Office, as part of a federal drunk driving grant. After more than 10 months, County officials worked out an agreement that pays the state $8,571 per month for two years or 24 months.
