I’m writing this letter because I am deeply concerned about the intersection of US 84-285 (Paseo de Oñate) and Vietnam Veterans Road, by city hall in Española.
There are two schools to the left of the highway, a park on the left side and another on the right.
For the past few months I have been watching traffic headed north run red lights. I’ve also seen many accidents due to running a red light. It is a dangerous intersection.
School is around the corner and I just want people to be aware that children are going to be walking across the street and on school buses, not to mention grandparents picking up their grandchildren and going through this intersection.
Please, drive carefully, obey the traffic lights and help keep the people and children of Española safe.
