DAVID JOE DOMINGUEZ,
49, a resident of Rio Chiquito, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away after a lengthily illness on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Celina Dominguez; in-laws, Frank and Julia Medina; brothers, Levi Trujillo and Randy Dominguez; nephews, Dennis Martinez Jr., Daniel Martinez, and Earl Trujillo; niece, Andrea Trujillo; and brothers-in-law, Leonard and Emilio Medina. David “DD” Dominguez was a life time resident of Rio Chiquito and was loved by all. He left us with the beautiful smile that we all knew. He was born on April 21, 1959 to Jose and Celina Dominguez. He married the love of his life, Donna, and was blessed with a son and a daughter, Adrian and Angelica. He was a graduate of Espanola Valley High School. David was a family man and participated in many activities with his family; He loved the mountains, especially going for “leña”. He lived day by day and never complained about his pain. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Dominguez is survived by his loving wife, Donna Dominguez; daughter, Angelica Dominguez; son, Adrian Dominguez and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Leticia and Francisco Dominguez all of Rio Chiquito; brothers, Leroy Dominguez of Chimayo, Walter Trujillo of Centinella and Floyd Dominguez and wife Vicky of Albuquerque; sisters, Louise Jimenez and husband Juan of Pojoaque, Evelyn Martinez and husband Dan, Lucille Martinez and husband Dennis and Sandra Solis all of Chimayo and Lorraine Dominguez and companion Albert Torres of Rio Chiquito; favorite uncle and aunt, Joe and Jerri Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Frankie Medina and wife Ruby of Cuarteles, Leroy Medina and wife Eva of Chimayo, Lawrence Medina and companion Betty of Chimayo and Michael Medina of Chimayo; sisters-in-law, Leona Tiede and husband Dennis of Chimayo, Patsy Trujillo and husband David of Truchas, Sennie Gallegos and husband Hank of Chimayo, Josie Macias and husband David of Santa Fe; and many nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors. A rosary was recited on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A second rosary was recited on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial followed at the Rio Chiquito Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Dennis Martinez, Albert Torres, Nick Trujillo, Frankie Medina, Filiberto Dominguez Jr., and Eddie Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers named were, Lisa Perez, Dan Martinez, Jerry Vigil, Joshua Martinez, Robert Vigil, Peter Roybal, Phil Joe Roybal, Yvette and Yvonne Medina and Danny and Margie Martinez, Ruby Medina, Horacio Manzanares, and all of his other nephews, nieces.
