DAVID MARTINEZ

DAVID MARTINEZ, 90, a resident of Coyote passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008.  He was born February 14, 1918 in Agua Sarca.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucilla Martinez; parents, Fidel and Bersabe Martinez; brothers, Donaldo, Fidel, Salomon and Luis.  Mr. Martinez is survived by his children, Dolores Ortega and husband Severo of Coyote, Marcella Suazo and husband Willie of Albuquerque, Dorella Martinez and husband David of Denver, Bebe Akell and husband Al of Denver, Belarmino Martinez and wife Gloria of Velarde and David Martinez and wife JoAnne of Taos; brothers, Nazario Martinez and wife Connie of Las Cruces, Benito Martinez and wife Piedad of Wyoming; sisters-in-law, Arcelia, Clara and Connie; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Public visitation was Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a wake following at 7:00 p.m. A rosary was recited on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at San Juan de Bautista Catholic Church in Coyote. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. also at San Juan de Bautista Catholic Church in Coyote. Burial followed at the Coyote Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; Bubba Martinez, Aaron Grace, Johnny Trujillo, Salomon Martinez, Adrian Suazo, and Nathaniel Akell.
