Delfin Lopez Sr., 82, El Rito, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Pablita Lopez; brothers, Bernardino, Erenieo and Jose Lopez and sister, Isabelle Madrid.
Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ignacita Lopez; children, Cornelio Lopez, Felix Lopez, Delfin Lopez Jr., Mabel Ocaña, Pauline Archuleta, Lucille Griego, Margaret Lopez, Brenda Garcia and Karen Trujillo; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
A rosary was recited Tuesday night in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home. A second rosary was recited yesterday (2/11) at 7 p.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (2/12) at 10 a.m. also at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Paul Ocaña Jr., Louis Griego, Jamie Ocaña, Francisco Archuleta, Cornelio Lopez Jr., Steven Ocaña, Leonard Trujillo and Andres Lopez. Honorary pallbearers named are all his granddaughters.
