Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential race on Sunday doesn’t change much about this election. Whether Donald Trump’s opponent ends up being VP Kamala Harris or there is an open convention, and some other Democrat is selected, this election will be decided on three major issues facing America right now. The border, the economy and foreign policy.
Kamala and the leading Democrat candidates believe in a one-world utopia straight out of a John Lennon song, where sovereign countries no longer exist, and some benevolent international organization runs the entire world. Demanding that immigrants follow the process of legal immigration has been deemed racist. The result is a non-stop flow of drugs and crime into New Mexico. When Donald Trump was president, we had sensible policies that worked to keep our border secure. As a border state, New Mexico has a compelling need to vote for Donald Trump and all other Republicans as well.
As Joe Biden flailed away in recent days, the White House floated a proposal for national rent control, to allegedly alleviate the economic pressures of inflation, that they themselves created through excessive government spending. It reveals their mindset to go directly to the failed socialist playbook every time. As anyone who has lived in a big city can tell you, rent control is rife with abuse and market distortions. I point this out to illustrate Democrats don’t believe in the laws of economics either, relying on government dictates to manipulate the economy.
In contrast, President Trump has a specific plan to bring down costs in the economy by lowering energy prices. Manufacturing, farming, transportation and other sectors are sensitive to the price of oil. Lowering energy costs through increased production leads to benefits throughout the economy. Martin Heinrich and his Hollywood donors won’t like it, but our country and our state will see positive impacts from “drill baby drill.”
Probably the most serious damage that Joe Biden has done in his ignominious reign is in the realm of foreign policy. Two months into the war, Ukraine and Russia had a peace deal on the table. The US and UK rejected it. Years of deadly fighting is the result. There are still American hostages in Gaza, Iran is weeks away from nukes, while Russia has theirs parked in Cuba and Taiwan and North Korea are in the news. Who are the geniuses making the calls at the State Department, who likely will stay on in a Democrat administration? Antony “51 Intelligence Officers” Blinken and Jake “Alfa Bank” Sullivan.
Donald Trump successfully translated his negotiating skills and business experience into good foreign policy decisions when he was in the White House before, and he will again. American strength and leadership is important not just to America, but to countries around the world. Trump has a proven track record of four years of peace. The assassination attempt showed Trump’s steely resolve and America is uniting behind him. The Democrats record of crime, inflation and war is appalling. No candidate that they put forward will change a thing.
