Dog Not Spared in Woman’s Attack on Ex-Boyfriend

One-Shoe Napper

Aug. 21

4:03 a.m. A Starbucks employee said a vagrant is in front of the store and their policy says they can’t enter the building until they are gone.

11:25 a.m. A woman called and requested help in getting her grandson out of the car after he stopped talking and got paralyzed. The woman’s son called and said his mother is having a mental breakdown.

11:59 a.m. A “strange” guy was reportedly yelling near Calle Borrego and North Riverside Drive.

1:55 p.m. A man was jumping around, swinging his arms and yelling near Wendy’s.

2:20 p.m. A man in a car was getting violent with everyone at the Santa Claran Casino Hotel.

2:23 p.m. A caller said her daughter is being harassed at the high school.

3:13 p.m. A woman went to EPD to file a report because she paid a man who did work for her and he’s harassing her for more money.

4:10 p.m. A man was in the Denny’s dining area, talking to himself and refusing to leave.

4:57 p.m. A caller said a man with one shoe is lying on the ground near Rue 21. The responding officer said the man was OK, he was just taking a nap. He told the man to take a nap where people “won’t be calling.”

5:37 p.m. A caller reported a driver near Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative was drinking a Modelo.

7:11 p.m. A Wendy’s caller said two people had foil; one started to have a seizure and the woman administered Narcan. Now the man is trying to go into the restroom.

10:03 p.m. A Hernandez caller said the neighbor is plugging into his garage and is harassing him.

11:26 p.m. A deputy stopped to speak with people sitting on the tailgate of a truck. He noted a woman was very drunk and concealing her identity. She had a warrant and kicked a deputy while he tried to arrest her.

In the Attic

Aug. 22

12:11 a.m. A Chimayó caller said people were trying to get into their house.

12:37 a.m. A Santa Clara caller reported her boyfriend choked her.

12:44 a.m. An Alcalde caller said someone is shooting but they stop when they see deputies and start again when they leave.

8:31 a.m. A caller reported a car was traveling south on North Riverside Drive, swerving and laying on his brakes. Another caller reported the man was driving on the sidewalk and has a gun in his waistband and was yelling at contractors.

10:49 a.m. An Alcalde caller reported two men were fighting a woman.

11:43 a.m. An El Llano Road caller said two people are in his house and he doesn’t know who they are or how they got there.

2:21 p.m. A Medanales caller reported his wife and brother-in-law had have been drinking and both hit him in the face multiple times, so he fled to his neighbor’s house with his two children. He called back and said his brother-in-law stabbed him in the eye.

2:57 p.m. A State Road 76 caller reported a man was peeking over the fence.

3:01 p.m. A child at Española Elementary said they don’t feel safe going home.

4:05 p.m. A caller reported someone was pitching a tent at the Vietnam Veterans Park.

4:20 p.m. A Medanales caller said his step-brother stabbed him in the eye with a screwdriver.

5:18 p.m. An El Buen Pastor caller can hear noises in the attic and doesn’t want to go up there. They think it might be a homeless person.

5:37 p.m. A man’s death was reported in Hernandez.

5:39 p.m. A T-Mobile caller said a customer phoned and said they are going to the store to slap the employee.

5:58 p.m. An El Guique caller reported a 14-year-old boy is not listening and won’t get out of her house.

8 p.m. A man was arguing with another man at the Santa Cruz Country Store and pulled a knife.

 

Fights and More Fights

Aug. 23

12:33 a.m. A caller reported a woman who seems to be drunk was walking in the middle of the road near North McCurdy Road and Calle Talache and almost got hit.

3:15 a.m. A Days Inn caller said a man and his partner were refused a room and now they’re walking around, knocking on windows.

10:31 a.m. An overdose was reported in front of the Española Fire Station. Narcan was administered.

10:32 a.m. A caller saw two men selling stolen items behind Salas Auto Body. They had two chainsaws and multiple drills.

12:15 p.m. A man was yelling and trying to fight employees at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

12:26 p.m. A Denny’s employee who was fired yesterday was harassing an employee, saying he’s still going to work and is trying to intimidate her.

1 p.m. A Hernandez caller reported her friend’s ex keeps passing back and forth in front of her house, is honking and is calling her and her daughter.

2:48 p.m. A Fairview Sonic caller said people in a truck took $38 worth of food.

4:30 p.m. A group of teens wearing all black was fighting in the baseball field at Valdez Park.

4:57 p.m. A caller said a man with a photo of a gaming controller is going around the neighborhood on Calle del Rio and North Railroad Avenue, yelling at people and threatening them.

5:05 p.m. An Alcalde caller reported her husband is punching things in the house and flattened her tire.

5:37 p.m. A deputy was flagged down in Gallina and a man told him his wood was stolen.

5:46 p.m. A man was in the McDonald’s play area, trying to light cigarettes.

9:03 p.m. A Mountain View Street caller saw a car driving slowly and suspiciously in the area. He heard a loud pop and saw the car speed off. He can smell smoke and thinks a drive-by happened.

9:36 p.m. Three women were trying to fight Speedway employees.

10:24 p.m. A Godfrey Lane caller said their brothers are fighting.

10:30 p.m. A N.M. 64 caller reported a bunch of teen boys, ages 15-16 are outside, trying to fight.

10:32 p.m. An Alcalde caller said someone is trying to break into her house.

10:48 p.m. An Alcalde caller reported three people are turning people, are unresponsive and can’t breathe.

 

Off the Wagon Again

Aug. 24

3:30 a.m. A caller on West Santa Clara Bridge Road and Los Alamos Highway was following a car after it struck them. They refused to pull over and said the dispatcher was worthless and hung up.

5:44 a.m. A man was exposing himself to female Walmart employees.

5:56 a.m. A man in a car at the Ohkay Casino appeared to be under the influence. He claimed he didn’t take anything but didn’t know who he was or how he got there.

6:50 a.m. The vacuums at Champion Car wash were damaged.

8:36 a.m. A deputy helped State Police with a bear in a tree in Chama.

8:41 a.m. A man near Wendy’s was not moving and someone was trying to perform CPR.

9:24 a.m. A Simmons Lane caller reported their vehicle was gone when they woke up. Santa Fe dispatch said the vehicle was in a rollover and was towed.

10:40 a.m. An overdose was reported on Rio del Oso. Narcan was administered but the man died.

12:45 p.m. A Medanales caller said a man is irate and hit a 17-year-old in the face.

1:13 p.m. A man went into Mike’s Mini Mart and threatened employees.

2 p.m. A man was in a yard on Old Hospital Road and picked up a broken piece of ladder, hit the gate and tried to hit a person.

2:11 p.m. A caller said her son was jumped yesterday at Valdez Park and there’s a history of messages on Snapchat saying he better not call the cops. They threatened to shoot him and sent him videos of guns. All involved are 14-years-old.

3:49 p.m. A man was parked in front of a home on Greenfield Road and was swinging a bar and yelling.

5:51 p.m. A group of men were fighting near the baseball fields in Ohkay Owingeh.

6:17 pm. A man was hitting a dog with a rock on State Road 76.

6:33 p.m. A home on Calle del Sol was broken into and a TV, DVD player, refrigerator, DVDs and two chainsaws were taken.

6:33 p.m. A man jumped a fence at the Villa del Norte Apartments and began counting money.

6:43 p.m. A very drunk man was refusing to leave a home on El Llano Road.

7:23 p.m. A man at Center Market was throwing rocks, lights and swinging a stick at the windows of the old Family Dollar.

9:03 p.m. A caller said her daughter told her that another student mentioned that he wanted to shoot McCurdy Charter School.

9:16 p.m. A man was refusing to leave Speedway and was threatening staff.

10:19 p.m. A caller said a man who works for her has a bad drinking problem and has fallen off the wagon several times. He’s texting her weird things most of the night and she thinks he fell off the wagon again.

11:28 p.m. A caller reported a homeless person is staying behind the Española Sports Medicine building on La Joya Street.

 

Stolen Leg Braces

Aug. 25

12:45 a.m. A caller said homeless people are starting to stash items on the roof of Liberty Tax and Loans.

9:10 a.m. A caller reported a person tried to steal a gator and riding lawnmower from the Jemez Mountains Schools administration office.

9:38 a.m. Metro PCS was broken into overnight and the safe and some phones were taken.

9:57 a.m. A McCurdy Charter School student made a death threat to another student.

10:44 a.m. A man was panhandling on the side of the road near Dandy’s Burgers.

10:54 a.m. Eight students at Española Valley High School were in possession of THC.

12:45 p.m. An overdose was reported at Ranchitos Pool. One dose of Narcan was administered.

1:24 p.m. A woman went to EPD to speak with an officer because her nephew forged a will on her mother’s house.

3:05 p.m. A Camino Miramontes caller said a caretaker quit three weeks ago and stole their leg braces.

3:56 p.m. Three needles were recovered at Tortilla Flats.

4:05 p.m. Ten needles were recovered on Roadrunner Drive.

4:41 p.m. A Calle Don Alfredo caller reported the neighbor said her son beat her up. He hit her with a chair and kicked her in the chest.

6:01 p.m. A State Road 76 caller said his ex-girlfriend hit him and his dog. He has video of the incident.

8:40 p.m. A caller reported seven people are setting up camp by the dumpsters behind KFC.

Aug. 26

6:48 a.m. A Calle Rivera caller said a man was punched by someone and they fled on a bicycle.

9:27 a.m. A caller reported a dog with a collar keeps following her all over town. An officer said if she calls back, to tell her to shoo the dog away.

9:42 a.m. A home on Tesuque Drive was broken into and several tools, clothing and other items were stolen.

9:43 a.m. A State Road 581 caller said his nephew was punched yesterday by their tenant while trying to collect rent.

10:11 a.m. A person in a tent on KFC property was refusing to leave.

10:45 a.m. A death was reported on State Road 527.

10:48 a.m. A caller thinks people at the Villa del Norte Apartments are selling cocaine.

11:09 a.m. A backpack with a computer was taken from a vehicle in Hernandez.

11:30 a.m. A woman was partially on Habitat for Humanity property and was throwing trash everywhere.

12:51 p.m. A student was jumped by four other students at the Española Middle School.

1:32 p.m. A 9-year-old child at San Juan Elementary had a pencil stuck in their backside. The caller wasn’t sure what happened but thinks someone may have put the pencil on the chair and the child sat down.

5:13 p.m. A Calle Rivera caller said multiple squatters are in a vacant house.

5:55 p.m. A Hernandez caller wanted to file a report for four Amazon packages that were supposed to be delivered but were not.

9:30 p.m. An overdose was reported on State Road 76 in Chimayó. Narcan was administered.

10:28 p.m. A big rock slide was reported in Abiquiú and the road was not passable.

10:35 p.m. An officer stopped to check on a 15-year-old boy who was walking in the rain on Eagle Drive. The boy had cuts on his arms and admitted to cutting himself earlier in the day.

 

Dog attack

Aug. 27

5:35 a.m. An overdose was reported at the bus stop in front of the Ohkay Eagle Mart. Three doses of Narcan were administered.

5:54 a.m. An Alcalde man let a woman stay the night and she locked him in his trailer and left in a car.

7:58 a.m. A man shoplifted a bicycle from Walmart.

8:24 a.m. A Camino Miramontes caller said her gate and fence were hit and there’s a lot of traffic in the area.

1:35 p.m. An El Guique Road caller reported his feeding tube fell out. A woman in the background said he’s hallucinating.

2:42 p.m. A caller said people are behind the nail salon on North Riverside Drive and they might be smoking drugs; they are acting irate.

2:53 p.m. An overdose was reported in Tierra Amarilla, but then it was determined the man was just sleeping.

3:17 p.m. A woman tried to shoplift at Walmart but the merchandise was recovered. She hit a customer with a shopping cart before leaving in a vehicle.

5:54 p.m. A Hernandez caller said the neighbor intentionally ran over and killed their dog.

6:10 a.m. A very drunk woman broke into an area of the Santa Claran Casino Hotel and was hitting herself.

7:01 p.m. A man lost his wallet at the Española Hospital and when he found it, there was $80 missing.

7:29 p.m. Four or five people were camping on the side of La Capilla del Santo Niño.

11:54 p.m. A caller reported a car parked on Jemez View Street and North McCurdy Road in which people are smoking.
