Regarding the ‘El Rito Man Dies in Rollover’ article in the Feb. 28 issue of the Rio Grande SUN, it was a coordinated first response by the New Mexico State Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office and both Abiquiú and El Rito volunteer fire departments.
No mention was made of the El Rito volunteers, but we had the first two fire trucks on the scene and extinguished the blaze, adding a third truck for traffic control. Just making sure the very mutual aid response was recognized, as it was truly a team effort.
