‘Elon Musk’ Wants a Walmart Gift Card

The police blotter is published to give readers an abridged look at criminal activity in their community and neighborhood. It is simply an illustration of what local law enforcement, funded by taxpayers, must deal with daily throughout the Española Valley.

Dec. 27

1:41 a.m. A woman was yelling and trying to fight a man at Allsups.

9:23 a.m. A woman was trying to cash a stolen check at Del Norte Credit Union East.

9:55 a.m. A man was smoking fentanyl outside Eagle Village Apartments.

10:33 a.m. A caller said a vehicle turned onto Riverside Drive and gravel hit their vehicle. When they confronted the driver, that person tried to hit the caller.

10:51 a.m. A Walmart caller reported their brother stole a portable heater.

12:58 p.m. A caller said a man is sleeping by the Convento chapel door on the plaza and they want him removed.

1:08 p.m. A caller reported her daughter was hallucinating.

1:10 p.m. The caller from the previous call said her daughter is trashing the house.

1:40 p.m. A Goodwill caller said someone named “Magic” tried to beat her up.

2:20 p.m. A caller reported her wallet was stolen and $200 was spent at El Rey Liquors. The caller said the thief is bragging to everyone that he broke into her car.

3:56 p.m. A Food King caller reported a man was being a pervert and got out of his truck touching his privates and looking at other women at they got out of their vehicles.

4:01 p.m. A Motel 6 caller said a man broke into a room and they want him removed.

4:18 p.m. A Fairview Sonic caller reported a woman went into the restaurant, saying that a man is harassing her.

5:41 p.m. A deputy pursued a vehicle in Chama.

6:49 p.m. A caller reported he went hunting and lost his brother by the flat in Pagosa.

7:15 p.m. A man was arrested in Chimayó after a domestic incident call.

9:07 p.m. A Sacred Hearth Church caller requested a welfare check on people in an SUV because the vehicle had been running for about two hours.

9:46 p.m. An Abiquiú caller said her son took some type of mushrooms and is shaking. CPR was performed and Narcan was administered.

 

Nap somewhere else

Dec. 28

7:47 a.m. A Calle Vigil caller said a man took fentanyl and isn’t used to doing it. One dose of Narcan was administered.

8:47 a.m. A La Familia Dental caller reported homeless people surrounded her vehicle when she pulled up and now they are trying to get into the building, but she locked the doors.

9:09 a.m. An Alcalde caller said her daughter needs help because she took a lot of pills and has been lying in the street all night.

9:21 a.m. A pickup truck rolled in Canjilon, trapping the people inside.

9:51 a.m. A man in a vehicle, wearing a fedora and black glasses was harassing Walgreens employees.

11:28 a.m. An officer stopped a man at DNCU East, who had three Walmart shopping carts.

1:21 p.m. A man and woman were hitting each other in front of R&E Glass.

2:08 p.m. A man was on the ground and unresponsive at the Giant gas station. The responding officer said the man was just taking a nap and was told to nap somewhere else.

2:34 p.m. A caller reported her husband’s ex-girlfriend is calling and harassing her.

3:22 p.m. A customer at the Dollar General in Alcalde was being verbally aggressive.

3:40 p.m. A 16-year-old caller said he and his 15-year-old friend caught a ride with someone to go to Socorro’s, but the man left them there. A deputy gave them a ride to Chamita.

3:45 p.m. A caller said a woman near Goodwill was beat up by people she knows.

5:29 p.m. A caller said he’s a caregiver and requested a welfare check on his patient because he’s not supposed to be driving due to Parkinson’s and early onset dementia, but he left about 10 minutes ago.

8:26 p.m. A woman reported a man is physically attacking her son and he is refusing to leave. She also said the attacker has a knife and threatened her.

9:48 p.m. A caller said her boyfriend threw a bottle and broke her windshield, then left.

10:33 p.m. A caller reported a woman is on probation and is trying to hit her mother.

11:17 p.m. A Motel 6 caller said a man at the front desk asked for a refund, then hit an employee.

Dec. 29

8:26 a.m. A caller reported a man went into an open field near East Pueblo Street and Calle Romero and started a fire.

9:37 a.m. A Chimayó caller said her nephew was shot.

10:31 a.m. A Ghost Ranch caller reported a pickup truck with the Ghost Ranch logo on it and a flatbed trailer connected was stolen.

12:37 p.m. A Calle Alamosa caller said homeless people set up a tent on his property and he wants them dispersed.

3:49 p.m. A Walmart caller reported two people are very drunk and had a bottle of vodka but dropped bottles throughout the store.

4:54 p.m. A man was asking for money in the Starbucks drive-thru.

5:48 p.m. A caller at North Riverside Drive and Lowdermilk Street said a man tried to open her vehicle door and was asking her to give him a ride.

8:30 p.m. A caller said a car that pulled into the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot was going 100 mph near the San Pedro Sonic.

8:34 p.m. A caller reported her schizophrenic daughter is having an episode, thinks she’s in labor and is being combative.

9:05 p.m. An Española Hospital caller said her cousin wants to file a report for ongoing physical abuse.

 

When snakes

12:01 a.m. A caller reported her ex-boyfriend is calling and threatening her and saying, “just wait until I see you.”

4:52 a.m. A caller said someone at his house has been harassing him, accusing him of a crime and playing music.

7:13 a.m. A caller reported some men took her husband and 10 of her children and they are trying to take her vehicle, too. She said the men are all in black and they built crosses in her yard. She has all the lights off and has eight of her children in the tub in the bathroom.

9:52 a.m. An Allsups caller said a man is sleeping next to the dumpster and refusing to leave.

10:31 a.m. A Lovin’ Oven caller reported someone broke in, busted the window and took a pellet gun.

10:51 a.m. A caller said he went to his girlfriend’s house and her father punched him in the face for no reason.

3:29 p.m. A Family Dollar in Tierra Amarilla caller reported a man is refusing to leave and threatening to physically hurt people in the store.

3:38 p.m. An officer reported a man ran up to him and said he was bitten by snakes.

3:40 p.m. A caller said three women and a man in a vehicle took packages from Z-4 Tractor Supply.

3:56 p.m. A caller reported a woman in a wheelchair outside the Days Inn is unable to care for herself and needs to go to the hospital.

4:17 p.m. A caller wanted to file a report for a vehicle that was damaged in the Ohkay Casino parking lot.

7:34 p.m. A caller said someone is trying to get into the Goodwill building.

8:15 p.m. A Sacred Heart Church caller reported vandalism behind the building and said a drunk man is in the chapel and refusing to leave.

9:22 p.m. A Food King caller said several people have a little bonfire going behind the building.

10:13 p.m. A caller reported a truck at Speedway has blood coming out of the back of it.

11:23 p.m. A caller on County Road 9 reported a man threw something at a vehicle and may have hit the window.

4:47 a.m. A woman in a traffic vest flagged down an officer to tell him that a man is lighting fires in a ditch.

7:32 a.m. A van was on a steep slope on State Road 96 near Abiquiú and appeared to be about to fall off a cliff.

9:44 a.m. A Velarde caller said her daughter, against whom she has a restraining order, punched her other daughter in the face.

10:01 a.m. A caller reported a truck crashed and there’s a body near it.

10:44 a.m. A caller said a man claiming to be Elon Musk wants her to go to Walmart and buy a gift card. She knows it’s a scam, but she wants help from officers. She said she hasn’t given the man any money.

11:19 a.m. A caller wanted to report animal abuse at a home in Alcalde.

12:55 p.m. A panic alarm at Guadalupe Credit Union was activated.

7:50 p.m. A man was yelling at people at Center Market.

9:10 p.m. A caller said a man was following her in town, saying she almost made him hit someone. He then began texting and calling her, saying he’s going to her house. He also said he’s not afraid of the police and his brother is in the Department of Defense.

9:21 p.m. A caller reported a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old are yelling at her and harassing her son. They also kicked her vehicle.

12:44 a.m. A Chamita caller said a man is trying to kick in their door and get in the house.

1:53 a.m. An Ohkay Casino caller reported his wallet went missing and now money is also missing from it.

3:45 a.m. A man called and wanted to turn himself in to police.

4:11 a.m. A man said he was walking down State Road 76 when someone stabbed him.

5:50 a.m. An Ohkay Casino employee reported finding her car unlocked and a pocket knife on the driver seat when she got off work and got into her car.

1:46 p.m. A caller wanted to file a report for stolen wreaths at the Veterans Memorial Wall.

1:53 p.m. A Santa Claran Casino Hotel manager reported someone was stuck in the elevator.

5:37 p.m. A man was fighting with another man and refusing to leave Little Caesar’s. He also threw pizza all over the store.

5:53 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man across from Avanyu, who is always dancing. The caller said he’s on the ground, convulsing.

9:17 p.m. A woman was breaking stuff inside a house in Hernandez.

9:33 p.m. A caller reported a person in a Mustang pointed a Glock at them near the Western Holiday Motel.

10:33 p.m. A man at Española Pathways Shelter was in and out of consciousness.

 

Slapped at the Dollar Tree

Jan. 2

8:26 a.m. A Jemez View Street caller saw someone on her camera as they entered her house.

9:56 a.m. A caller reported someone stole meat and broke the window on their Ash Loop home.

10:19 a.m. A Las Cumbres Community Services caller said someone shot out the windows.

11:05 a.m. A Lybrook caller reported a break-in and damages. They wanted to file a report over the phone.

11:21 a.m. A Velarde caller said her daughter is on her property and violating the restraining order she has on her.

11:40 a.m. A caller wanted to speak with an officer about a stolen credit card that someone is trying to use in Española.

11:44 a.m. A Fry Street caller said their drunk father is being disorderly.

12:07 p.m. An Española Hospital caller reported a man who was discharged is refusing to leave.

12:40 p.m. A man on the side of Mariscos La Playa was not responding; an overdose was suspected.

1:03 p.m. A caller found bullet holes in a storage container at Best Way Storage that they suspect is from when people were shooting guns on New Year’s Eve.

1:10 p.m. A woman overdosed at Española Pathways Shelter and began screaming for help when she regained consciousness.

2 p.m. A Dollar Tree employee said another employee was slapped by someone who left on foot through the Walmart parking lot.

2:52 p.m. A man was bothering customers at Lotaburger by asking for food and money; he refused to leave.

3:23 p.m. A man was reportedly riding a 4-wheeler on Calle de Pajarito with his daughter who was not wearing a helmet.

4:25 p.m. A man’s death was reported in El Rito.

4:52 p.m. A Starbucks caller said two homeless men are loitering in the enclosed trash bin area and refusing to leave.

6:54 p.m. A Velarde caller requested courtesy rounds because someone jumped his fence and tried to get into his car.

7:26 p.m. A man was walking around Calle del Alamo and North Railroad Avenue and shadowboxing.

9:08 p.m. A Truchas caller wants a man removed from her house.
